My experience as an intern at Fisplay Oy
My name is Denis (19), and I am a participant in the student exchange program ”Erasmus+” sponsored by the European Union.
Originally from Bavaria, Germany, I currently reside near Munich. In September 2022, I started my apprenticeship
as an IT Specialist in System Integration. My role at my German employer, is to provide first-level support to our
customers, ensuring swift resolutions to our clients’ IT issues.
During my recent internship at Fisplay, one key takeaway has remained etched in my mind: the power of information screens, and their profound impact on modern business operations. Info screens serve as more than just displays; they are powerful tools that enable businesses to communicate effectively, engage with customers, and streamline operations. From corporate offices to retail spaces, info screens play a pivotal role in disseminating information, showcasing products, and enhancing the overall customer experience.
Furthermore, info screens contribute to the modernization of business operationsby digitizing traditional processes and workflows. From digital signage solutionsto interactive kiosks, info screens empower businesses to streamline operations,reduce costs, and enhance productivity.
Internship at Fisplay Oy
In our vocational school in Munich we learn the basics in HTML, here at Fisplay I did get the change to improve not only my HTML skills but also my Java and PHP skills.
In my 4 week Internship I completed multible HTML, Java and PHP courses. In summery they were very usefull and gave me a better undestanding of HTML and programming.
One of the most enriching aspects of my internship has been the supportive environment fostered by my colleagues. Whether I stumbled upon a tricky task or needed guidance on a complex question, there was always someone ready to lend a helping hand.
Why Info Screens are important

Well there are more then 3 good reasons why you should use info screens to inform people in your company, as well as your customers. But these are the most importent ones.
Let me explain

This does not only increase the productivity of the employee but also strengthens the transparency of the company.

My internship at Fisplay
Why displays are useful for internal work information exchange
My name is Amelie. I am 19 years old and I live in Munich. I am making an internship at Fisplay for 4 weeks. I startet my aprrenticeship in September 2022 and I work for a big German company in Munich where I did cyber defence for the last half year. In my company there is rule where you change the department where you work every half year. My firt department was invoicing and then I changed to cyber defence. My professional school offered this internship which is sponsored by the european union. I send my application and I was selected from over 100 students and now I am here and I am very happy about it. This intership programm is sponsered by the europen union and I think it is a great oppurtunity for young people to make experiences at workplaces around the world.
Introduction Fisplay
Fisplay is a smaller company in the near of Helsinki with 20 employees. They import, sell and install Info displays maintain Info displays, touch screens, LED giant screens and various service terminals. They also have developed an easy-to-use and affordable Galaxo Infochannel content management software. Fisplay includes more then one comany. They also have Fissafe and Fiscode.
In the FisCode buisness area, they conduct software development and maintenance espacially for growth-oriented companies. Their special areas of expertise include ERP systems (ERPs), Google cloud services, offer calculation systems, loyalty systems, cloud export and web app (PWA) software.
Fisafe is their last buisness area. This is an ICT maintenance solution. The Fisafe access control system provides an easy-to-maintain code lock solution for various acces control targets. The system is used daily to open about 4000 doors and more then 20000 times per day. In additions, Fisafe camera surveillance- and indor network solutions serve their costumers in hundreds of locations in the Nordic countries.
My internship at Fisplay
On my first day I got handed out a laptop and we started setting it up. I got my very own mail-adress. I logged into my mail-account, changed my password and looked threw the informaions we got. We got a list with things we can do and we started right away. We got a moodle course where we got links to many different online courses where we can learn HTML, PHP and Jawa. In the first two weeks we were doing a deepdive in these courses and had little project meanwhile. In the second week we decided we want to start our own HTML page, that we can show in our companys at home. So we set up different websites and started working on it. In the third week my focus was se on building the page and also learning new skills.
To be completty honest I had no expectation about this internship. I only did one internship in my life before and that was in a kindergarden. But after this internship I kinda regret not doing more internships and trying more different jobs and companys before setteling for one. The atmosphere here was very friendly and welcoming. Everybody was very kind and I never felt like I was annoying anyone. Overall it was a very good internship and that I made the right choice to send my appication because this will forever be a great experience and memory.

- Interactive options: Modern info screens offer interactive functions that enable employees to delve deeper into specific topics, give feedback or access additional information.
- Consistency and control: Information can be managed and controlled centrally, ensuring consistent and accurate communication. This prevents misunderstandings and ensures that all employees receive the same information.
- Motivation and commitment: By presenting successes, recognitions and positive messages on the information screens, employee morale and commitment can be strengthened.
- Flexibility: Info screens can be used for a variety of communication purposes, such as displaying company news, safety instructions, event notices or training information.
- Space efficiency: Compared to physical noticeboards, info screens require less space and can be integrated into existing room concepts without requiring additional space.
By implementing info screens to disseminate information internally, an organization can make communication more efficient, engaging and environmentally friendly.
But what are the advantages for the employees? At my workplace in Germany we use infoscreens to track our progress with the incoming tickets and invoices. One look at the screen can totaly tell you how much workload you have and what needs to be done immediatly or has more time to get finished. It makes me stay motivated, when I see the numbers on the screen go down or it makes me work harder when I see that other people in my department need help with their stuff. This also strengthens the team dynamic because you help and support each other. So my experiences with infoscreens are pretty positive and I think that more companys should have infoscreens in their offices.
